Quads of Steel

Day 39
Biking

Wade called yesterday from work to inform me that he had to be to work by 7 am this morning. I toyed around with the idea of leaving at 5:30 to bike, but I just couldn't bring myself to even suggest such a thing to Christina. So, instead, I agreed to hook up the bike trailer to my mountain bike and take the kids with me.

Granted, it's the first time I've ever done such a thing. But, really, how hard could it be.

Apparently, really hard.

I cycled over to the clubhouse to meet Christina at 6:30. Then we started down the triathlon course.

We made it down Lake View or whatever that street is all the way to the end of Stansbury Park. Then I suggested maybe we cut down Ponderosa so I wouldn't have to haul my 60 pounds of precious cargo down to Brienne and back up Bates Canyon. We got to the top of Cochrane Lane and turned around. Good thing because Christina's tire (the very one she just fixed) went flat right there and we ended up walking all the way back to her house. It's nice that (a) we weren't all the way over to Erda and (b) she doesn't still live on Water Wheel because that would've been a LONG walk home.

I can tell that it was a really hard workout because I've been unusally short with Josh this morning. A lot of it is that I had to drag him out of bed and he's whiney and crabby when I do that. But, a lot of is me too. It was tough pulling those kids. I hope it doesn't ruin me for my run tomorrow. And I hope I get a nap today.
