Burn, Baby, Burn
Day 21
Road Biking
Oiy! I spent $25 to get my tire fixed at Taylor's Bike Shop in Salt Lake (now that we don't have a bike shop in Tooele Co. anymore). They were suppose to put in slime between the tire and the tubing and it was suppose to be great.
Yeah. Great.
It was flat again by the time I got back home. Mind you, the tire was in the CAR. I wasn't riding it or anything.
So, no road bike for me this morning. Christina showed up at 6:30 and we decided to ride the highway to Cimmaron Way (above Erda Way) and then ride that down to the road that the triathlon is on and then back to Christina's. I noticed, at one point, a few things:
(a) I was pedaling twice as fast as Christina. For every stroke she did, I was doing two.
(b) At one point, we were going slower than Hillary was running the 4th of July 5k. Yeah, that was not a high point in the morning.
It was rough going but we finally finished. We did about 10 miles if you count the mileage over to my house. Not too shabby considering it took us about as long as it did last week to do 12 miles. Maybe we're getting faster? Hmmmm....
